Reasoning[edit]

The reasoning behind the creation of this category is that I found two sources where the number of species is superior to 1,000. Right now, the criterion for making separate species categories of protists is a species number of over 1,000-2,000, as is the case for diatoms, dinoflagellates, ciliates, radiolarians and so on. Also, I choose to rename it 'Oomycete species' instead of 'Water mould species' given how many are not aquatic, and they are more commonly known as oomycetes as far as I know. — Snoteleks (talk) 18:20, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
