Move-rename[edit]

This was originally a post at the Okanagan-Similkameen people cat: I don't like RD-people cats to start with, but if this is going to exist it should be Category:People from the Okanagan-Similkameen Regional District. Otherwise it sets bad precedents for things like Category:People from Central Kootenay, Category:People from Mount Waddington, Category:People from Northern Rockies etc etc.Skookum1 (talk) 17:23, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

With all the cats shown in this RD they should all have the dfinite article "the" inserted in their titles; "Kitimat-Stikine Regional District" are not proper names and require the definite article; it sounds awkward, even contrived, to use them as if they were stand-alone proper names; which they're not. Cat names should be Category:People from the Fraser Valley Regional District, British Columbia. I don't like these cats to start with, but if they're going to exist they shouldn't presume anything more of what an RD is and how it's referred to than the whole existence of the cats and their applications does in teh first place. See Category talk:People from Okanagan-Similkameen for starters, or Category talk:Regional Districts of Briitsh Columbia in more general terms. "from Fraser Valley Regional District" and such are just not good English, nor standard usage.Skookum1 (talk) 17:29, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
