Dashes for product names in wiki article names[edit]

I'm kind of confused about the article naming rules (Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Dashes & Wikipedia:Article_titles#Special_characters),
the uniform naming of articles inside a category (for example Category:Canon_EF_lenses vs. Category:Nikon_F-mount_lenses)
and the official public product name writing from the manufacturers (for example, Canon & Nikon).

Also take a look at the existing disc there: Wikipedia:Help desk/Archives/2020 January 26#Dashes for product names in wiki article names

Who can tell me more about it, which options there are and their advantages and disadvantages?

My suggestion is to use hyphen (-) in the article names and en dash (–) inside the article text as well as in additional redirections.
Any ideas/considerations? --Angerdan (talk) 19:54, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Based on MOS:ENFROM it seems like an en dash should be used instead of a hyphen, as the 24–105 is technically a range of focal lengths, and the usage doesn't match anything in Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Hyphens. I'd suggest that Canon EF 24–105mm lens be moved back to an en dash instead of the hyphenated title. Briguychau (talk) 18:10, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
