Na Grotowie Starym dziedziczyli Grotowscy Zurowie. Pawel, syn Macieja, zwany Zur z Grotowa, otrzymal zapis od Stanislawa Grotowskiego 1537 r. Syn jego Stanislaw, zwany Zurek, zeznal 1560 r. zapis dozywocia z zona, Anna z Belskich, corka Pawla (Zs. Gr. Czers. 10 B f. 225; 27 f. 114; 30 f. 866; 31 f. 748). Synowie jego: Jerzy i Ludwik. Jerzy pozwany o napad 1588 r. przez synow Adama Boruty, a Ludwik wespoz dziecmi Jerzego: Adryjanem, Anna i Barbara, wyprowadzony do Bodzewa 1603 r. Adrian zeznal 1617 r. zapis dozywocia z zona z Dubielskich (Zs Gr. Czers. 51 f. 1033; Perp. Czers. 2 f. 388; Warec. 21 f. 757 i 789).

Maciej Zur von Grotów Sohn: Pawel Zur von Grotów ( erbt im Jahre 1537 das Gut Grotów (Stary) von Stanislaw Grotowski. Sohn: Stanislaw genannt Zurek von Grotów, Ehefrau Anna Belska (beurkundete 1560 mit seiner Ehefrau Anna Belska, Tochter von Pawel,eine Verpflichtung ins Grundbuch über das lebenslange Erbgut) Zwei Söhne von Stanislaw Zurek und Anna Belska: Jerzy Zurek und Ludwig Zurek Sohn von Stanislaw: Jerzy wurde im Jahre 1583 von den Söhnen Adam Boruta´s wegen Überfalls angeklagt. Drei Kinder von Jerzy Zurek Adrian, Anna Barbara (Ludwig Zurek ist im Jahre 1603 mit den Söhnen seines Bruders Jerzy, Adrian, Anna und Barbara in die Stadt Bodzew gezogen) Sohn von Jerzy: Adrian Zurek und seine Ehefrau von Dubielski (Im Jahre 1617 Beurkundung mit seiner Ehefrau vor dem Notar über das lebenslange Erbgut).

Der Sohn des Pawel, Stanislaw, genannt Żurek (d.h. Sohn des Żur), hat mit seiner Ehefrau Anna Belska, Tochter des Pawel (Belski) im Jahre 1560 notariell beurkundet und eine Verpflichtung ins Grundbuch eingetragen, über das lebenslange Erbgut mit seiner Ehefrau Anna von Belski, Tochter des Pawel (Belski) (Zs. Gr. Czers. 10 B f. 225; 27 f. 114; 30 f. 866; 31 f. 748). Stanislaw (Zurek) hatte zwei Söhne, Jerzy und Ludwik. Jerzy wurde im Jahre 1583 von den Söhnen von Adam Boruta wegen eines Überfalls angeklagt. Grotowscy Zurowie inherited Grotów Stary. Pawel, the son of Matthew, called Zur from Grotów, received the record from Stanislaus Grotowski in 1537. His son Stanislaus , called Zurek, witnessed in 1560 the record of the life estate with his wife, Anna from Belski, Paul's daughter (Zs. Gr.Czers. 10 B f. 225; 27 f. 114; 30 f. 866; 31 f. 748). His sons: George and Louis. George, accused of the robbery in 1588 year by sons of Adam Boruta, and Louis together with George's children: Adrian, Anna and Barbara, led out to Bodzewo in 1603. Adrian witnessed in 1617 the record of the life estate with his wife from Dubielscy (Zs Gr. Czers. 51 f. 1033; Perp. Czers. 2 f. 388; Warec. 21 f. 757 and 89).

I have checked in informative "Polish noble families and their coats of arms" by Tadeusz Gail.

The name Zurek is absent but there are 3 families of the name Grotowski: That from Grojec most probably does concern you: Coat of Arms: Kuszaba Year of nobilitation: 1500- so it does tally. Your Grotowkis were doing well and spread the wings so to speak. The Zur, Zurek does mean the specific sour cream and boiled eggs polish soup(excellent) and the bloke in question used to be called this way to differentiate him from other Grotowski lot-and there must have been a few. If the said Zurek were to be of peasant stock he would be the Property of some nobleman, indentured creature, thus unable to pass on property from father to son. Have your name professionally researched and present the prooves to authorities at Almanach de Gotha. Then you will be able, hopefully, to change your name to WERNER Freiherr Zurek- Grotowski de Grotowo herbu Kuszaba. Good luck!
