Canadian English usage[edit]

"power station" can mean a substation or other electrical facility, it is not a generic for powerhouse or power plant, which are the normal Canadian usage. The imposition of British English here is against the principles of {{Canadian English}} and is part of a homogenization of usages on incorrect claims and not a bit of linguistic imperialism; the claim when the US category was similarly changed that "power station" is equally found with "powerhouse" in the US is not borne out by actually looking at US articles. This category should be renamed Category:Generating stations in Canada per the main article titles found throughout Canadian powerhouse/ generating station articles. But I've learned it's pointless to argue with the dominant majority of British editors/admins who 'know best for the colonials'.Skookum1 (talk) 04:27, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
