Why just in the period prior to 1865? That may have been when it was abolished in some country, but slavery was not formally abolished in e.g. Saudia Arabia until around the 1960s, and it is still unofficially practiced there! I don't think this categorisation represents a worldwide view on the subject. In any case, the category title does not reflect the fact that it is about defenders of slavery before 1865. greenrd 16:27, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
