I'm relatively new to editing Wikipedia. I don't know how the category pages are taken care of, but I can see that there's no option for editing them here. Having poked around a bit in recent times, though, I'd say that one of the biggest chores facing those here is getting the categories and indexes in order. If you look at tools as a good example: There's no hammer except under metalworking, there's no screwdriver, pliers are only under metal, again. But there's a pig scalder and a backscratcher - nothing wrong with that, but there's no real organization here, and some other topics are the same thing. Again, I don't know the mechanism, but anyone browsing these categories (metalworking, mostly) is going to be sorely lacking in guidance.Jjdon (talk) 22:49, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Articles are categorized individually within their most specific category to avoid creating categories with too many articles to be meaningful. There are woodworking & metalworking factions here that seem to appropriate general purpose tools (i.e. hammers & pliers) under their favourite subject and this is unfortunate. When odd tools such as backscratchers can be parked with other kinds of related tools we'll move them into more specific cats as someone sees fit.--Hooperbloob (talk) 07:20, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed this category because I don't see how a tool is a skill. If I'm mistaken please add it back. Wizard191 (talk) 00:42, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
