Categorization woes[edit]

There should possibly be a new subcategory for maritime topics (say "Venetian fleet") under the main category "Venice". I mean the whole city is about water-borne travel and they have about a hundred types of boats and ships and in good time hopefully those will be included in wikipedia.

Also I don't understand why there exists a subcategory for "Republic of Venice". In fact very little noteworthy happened in Venice outside the city-republic era. It was mostly just decline under french, austrian and italian rule. I think all the material under subcategory "republic of venice" should be dumped straight to the main "Venice" category, so people could browse a lot more topics and content easily. 82.131.210.162 (talk) 17:06, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
