The plant is owned and developed by Garjang Upatyaka HP Company Limited, an IPP of Nepal. The plant started generating electricity from 2018(2074-08-28BS) and the generation licence will expire in 2049 (2105-11-20 BS) after which the plant will be handed over to the government. [2] The power station is connected to the national grid and the electricity is sold to Nepal Electricity Authority.[3][4]
