Channel3Now

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Channel3Now (stylised Channel3 NOW) is a website that aggregates news stories.[1] It has been linked with fuelling the 2024 United Kingdom riots by posting a false article claiming that the 17-year-old charged in the 2024 Southport stabbing was an asylum seeker who arrived in the UK by boat last year.[2] An 8 August 2024 BBC News investigation found no evidence to back up the claim of Russian links to the site.[2] As of 31 July 2024, Channel3Now had posted an online statement apologising for publishing misleading information.[3]

According to a spokesperson for Channel3Now, the site purchased a former Russian-language YouTube channel, changed its name, and later posted video content related to Pakistan.[2] Their YouTube channel has now been suspended.[2]
