Charlapalli railway station(station code: CHZ) it is the fourth Major Central Railway Terminal developed in Hyderabad City to reduce the load on the currently operated Nampally; Secunderabad and Kacheguda Railway Terminal. It is redeveloped in such a way that to facilitate the future needs and to create wider connectivity to other cities and parts of the country. It is currently being operated by the South Central Railway zone of Indian Railways. The station was mainly developed to reduced the load on the other three major terminals which are saturated with heavy moment of trains and passenger.[1]

Development[edit]

The station was developed at a cost of 430 crores. The station has VIP lounges, food courts, escalators and air conditioning waiting rooms. According to railways officials It is the second air-conditioned railway terminal in South India. It is also one of the green field project for Indian railways to construct a world class terminal. This is the first railway station in the South Central Railway zone to be developed as a world class futuristic railway station and second in south India after Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal, Bengaluru railway station.[2]

Connectivity[edit]

This railway station will be connected to nearby neighborhoods in the city by Hyderabad Multi-Modal Transport System, commonly abbreviated as MMTS and TSRTC City buses along with Ride-hailing services for car taxis, bike taxis and autorickshaws such as Ola, Rapido and Uber are also available.
