Chenar (Persian: چنار, also Romanized as Chenār)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Cheshmeh Sabz Rural District of Golmakan District, Golbahar County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 161 in 52 households, when it was in Golmakan Rural District of the former Golbahar District of Chenaran County).[5] The following census in 2011 counted 205 people in 70 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 350 people in 111 households.[2]

In August 2019, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Golbahar County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Golbahar as its capital.[4]
