The China Worker Net,[3] or Chinese Workers Website,[4] was a Chinese left-wing[5] website dedicated to the Chinese working class.[6] It was founded in Beijing[7] on May 1, 2005[8] by a group calling themselves "socialists".[9] The editor-in-chief of the site was Yan Yuanzhang.[10]
China Worker Net (www.zggr.org) claimed to truly represent the workers, peasants, soldiers, and communist ideology.[10] The website made sharp criticisms of laborer and peasant policies.[11]
Shut down[edit]
On February 22, 2006, the China Worker Net was ordered to be shut down by the Chinese government.[12]
