History

[edit]

DCIF, originally known as PTC India Foundation, was established in 1994 as the Indian Chapter of the Pacific Telecommunications Council, Hawaii, USA. The foundation has operated as a forum of experts and intellectuals, advocating convergence in the communication sector through enriched debates and dispassionate analysis. The organization's annual conferences have offered an overview of global telecom trends from the perspective of multiple stakeholders, maintaining independence from various lobbies.

Activities and Contributions

[edit]

DCIF regularly organizes conferences, seminars, and other events to encourage the exchange of ideas and address specific issues within the telecommunications sector. These events aim to address current and future challenges in the industry. Over the past thirty years, DCIF has hosted numerous conferences, seminars, and roundtable discussions/webinars on key topics in the ICT sector. The organization has also presented its recommendations to the Parliamentary Standing Committees, TRAI, DoT, and other national and international bodies responsible for telecommunications, IT, and broadcasting policies.
