Donovan "Donnie" Freeman is an American basketball player who currently attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
Early life and high school[edit]
Freeman grew up in Washington, D.C. and initially attended St. John's College High School.[1] He averaged 21 points and 8.5 rebounds per game as a junior.[2] Freeman transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida before the start of his senior year.[3] Freeman was selected to play in the 2024 McDonald's All-American Boys Game during his senior year.[4]
Recruiting[edit]
Freeman is considered a top-50 prospect in the 2024 class.[5] He committed to play college basketball at Syracuse over offers from Alabama, Texas, Iowa, and Georgia Tech shortly after the conclusion of his junior year of high school.[6] Freeman was re-rated a five-star recruit by ESPN during his senior season.[7]
