Áhugamenn Studios is an Icelandic film and television production.

It was founded as a part of a school project by five 8th graders in 2021 and has since produced educational short films and a television series.

History[edit]

Áhugamenn Studios was formed in 2021 by Halldór Gauti Tryggvason, Kristinn Snær Valdemarsson, Ísak Trausti Ingólfsson Lehmann, Kári Steinn Valþórsson and Patrekur Jónas Tómasson during the filming of a history school project. The project was a five-minute film about colonialism and slavery during the 19th century. In 2022, Áhuagamenn started planning a 30-minute film about Laxdæla saga. The film released in May 2023 and received mixed ratings. In October 2023, Áhugamenn announced their first television series based on the prequel to Laxdæla saga, Gísla saga. It was then announced that the first four-episode season would release in January 2024.
