Abhijeet S. Gholap (born January 1, 1972) is an Indian entrepreneur, researcher and film producer.[1][2]
Early life and education
[edit]Abhijeet was born on January 1, 1972 in Mumbai, India.[3] He attended Stanford Graduate School of Business and received his M.tech degree from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 1994.[4]
Career
[edit]Abhijeet worked for TCS, Cedartech and Siemens Medical Solutions before cofounding a digital pathology company, BioImagene in 2002.[citation needed] Later in 2004, the company acquired US-based image management company, Scimagix Inc.[5] In 2006, BioImagene acquired Tissue Informatics Inc.[6][7][8] BioImagene was later acquired by Roche Holding AG for 100 million USD.[9][10][11]
Abhijeet currently holds 21 patents to his credit.[12] He is the founder of Optra Ventures, California.[citation needed] Subsidaries of Optra Ventures include Optra Systems, Optra SCAN and Optra HEALTH.[13]
In 2010, Abhijeet cofounded Optra HEALTH, which specializes in utilizing AI to interpret genetic test reports.[14] Since 2019, he serves as the member of board of directors of a California-based, non-profit organization, TiE Silicon Valley.[3]
Filmography
[edit]In 2011, Abhijeet S. Gholap began his entertainment venture by producing his debut film, Deool under Devisha Films Productions.[15] It is an Indian Marathi dark comedy directed by Umesh Vinayak Kulkarni.[16]
In 2012, he produced his second film, Bharatiya on the social topic presented as a dark humor.[2][17] The following year in 2013, Abhijeet produced Hou De Jarasa Ushir.[18]

[edit]Abhijeet received Late Rajiv Gandhi Sanganak Sarathi award in 2009.[4]
His debut movie, Deool won the 59th National Film Awards for Best Feature Film.[19] Abhijeet received Golden Lotus Award (Swarna Kamal) by the President of India.[20]
His third production film, Hou De Jarasa Ushir (2013) was selected among top 282 films for a nomination in Best Film Category for Oscars.[21][22][18]
