Acquired Taste is the third studio album by British R&B singer-songwriter Junior Giscombe, released in 1985. The album follows his previous works, Ji (1982) and Inside Looking Out (1983).[1]

Acquired Taste continues to showcase Junior's blend of soul, R&B, and pop, with a more mature and polished sound. The album includes tracks like "Oh Louise," and "Somebody," an upbeat and catchy tune. Another notable song from this album would be Do You Really Want My Love which was released in 1984 and peaked at 47 which was top 50 in the UK in 1985 this track was with Beverly Hills Co Flim and another song of his Stone Lover it wasn't released in the Album Vinyl but it's a great soulful song and has electro-funk elements [2] [3]

Although Acquired Taste did not achieve the same commercial success as his first album, it was well-received by critics and has gained recognition over time as an underrated gem in his discography.

The album's production was handled by a team of seasoned professionals, contributing to its polished sound. Junior worked closely with various producers and musicians to create a cohesive project that still allowed for creative exploration. This collaboration resulted in a diverse sound palette that ranges from smooth, groove-laden tracks to more upbeat and rhythmically complex songs. The instrumentation throughout the album includes lush keyboards, dynamic basslines, and intricate drum patterns, all of which complement Junior's rich, soulful vocals.

Famous Arif Mardin and David Frank (musician) contributed into the song Called Somebody which was released in 1984 but despite this it peaked 64 in the UK. The album as A whole only charted 34 in US R&B
