Submission declined on 7 April 2024 by Chaotic Enby (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Adi Suyash, born Suyash Raj (Jha) on July 23, 2003, in Purnia, Bihar, India, is an author and spiritual teacher known for his contributions to the understanding of Non-Dual Vedanta and Tantra, particularly within the framework of Kashmir Shaivism.
Early Life and Spiritual Journey
[edit]Adi Suyash's spiritual journey began at a young age following the death of his grandfather, to whom he was deeply attached. Witnessing his grandfather's cremation profoundly impacted him, leading him to contemplate the nature of life, death, and the afterlife. This experience sparked his interest in spirituality and prompted him to delve into the study of life and death. In his own words:
"On that evening, as his body was engulfed in flames, I sat nearby, watching him alone. A part of his face was visible. I witnessed how that body, that face to which I was so attached, slowly burned away, melting until eventually, after a while, only charred bones — the skull — remained, and then, after some time, even that disappeared, turning to ashes in the flames. I sat there watching him for some hours until he turned completely into ashes. I couldn’t quite process what was happening. And then, that vision, the sight of that burning corpse, became permanently etched in my mind; whenever I closed my eyes, all I could see was a body burning. At home, in school, on the playground; eventually I began to see myself lying down in place of that body, as if I were the one burning. I would lie down, close my eyes, and continue watching. Watching myself burning, turning into ashes, in the classroom, at home, on the bed while sleeping at night, whenever I found the time, it would happen spontaneously. Surprisingly, it was quite a blissful experience. Alongside this, I began to delve into the study of death, what happens after death, where does the departed soul go — and this study led me towards yogic and Tantric scriptures."[1]
Educational Background
[edit]Adi Suyash chose to forego formal education, opting instead to pursue his spiritual practices full-time. He dropped out of high school, believing that traditional educational institutions stifle individuality and creativity. His decision to leave school was a gradual process driven by his desire to explore his identity and deepen his spiritual understanding. He writes:
"During my days of practising meditation, I found myself in a state of detachment from formal education. The process of dropping out from school was gradual. Initially, I attended school for four days, and on the other two days, I would feign stomach pain as an excuse for my absence. Then it progressed to 3 days in school and 3 days absent, then 2 days in school and 4 days absent, continuing like this until, by the time I reached the ninth grade, I attended school only for five days."[2]
Works
[edit]Adi Suyash is the author of "Threads of Transcendence: Decoding Shiva Sutras and Mastering the Science of Being Free," a comprehensive commentary on the first 22 aphorisms of the Shiva Sutras of Vasugupta. It was completed on Fri, 8 March 2024 (Maha Shivratri).
Teachings and Philosophy
