Akuma Divine Saningong (born September 9, 1978)[1] is a Cameroonian-German keynote speaker, author and molecular biotechnologist.[2][3][4] He is known for his work in bridging the gap between science and personal development.[5][6]

Saningong was listed among the "100 Most Influential Africans in Germany" by African Heritage magazine in 2015 and 2016.[7][8]

Education and research

[edit]

Saningong completed his undergraduate studies in Biotechnology at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in 2004.[9] Later, he obtained a master’s degree in Molecular Biotechnology from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), where he conducted research in Epigenetics.[10][11]

From 2006 to 2010, Saningong pursued his Ph.D. at the University of Duisburg-Essen. His thesis, titled "Functional Studies on Par14/Par17 with Emphasis on Chromatin, The Cell Cycle, and Protein-Protein Interactions," focused on cellular and molecular biology.[12][13][14][15][16]

Career and speaking

[edit]

In 2007, Saningong founded Kamerun4AfrikaClub (KAC), a non-profit organization providing education and vocational training for youth in Cameroon and Africa.[17][18][19]

He served as an innovation manager and head of research and development at EurA AG until 2015.[20]

In 2020, Saningong initiated the Epi-Health Innovation and Research Network to advance technology and biological research with the aim of improving health outcomes.[21]

He led the "Afrika-Digital-Energie" initiative, which received funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).[22]

In 2021, he founded KAC-Afrika GmbH to promote research and development collaboration between African and European companies.[23][24][25]

Saningong has spoken at international conferences, including TEDx talks[26][27][28] and the World Biotechnology Congress in Berlin.[29][30]

He also contributes to podcasts on African economic development.[31][32][33][34][35][36]

Affiliations

[edit]

Saningong is a member of the Federation of European Biochemical Societies as well a member of the German Life Science Association - Verband Biologie, Biowissenschaften & Biomedizin (VBIO) in Deutschland.[37][38]
