The American Communist Party is a political party that was founded on the 21st July, 2024, declared by its founding members called the Plenary Committee of the American Communist Party.[11] Its foundation is part of the larger MAGA Communism movement led by members such as Jackson Hinkle and Adam Tahir (known more popularly by his pseudonym Haz Al-Din), whereby they say their goal is to establish a Marxist-Leninist, communist America with conservative values, as the only way to “save America and its working-class” from current world crises and the ruling elites.
History, Diplomacy and Media Coverage
[edit]The American Communist Party was formally declared through the signing of the Party's official Declaration on the 21st July, 2024 in Chicago, Illinois[12] by its 10 founding members. The ACP was established to advocate for the implementation of communism within the United States, in response to what its members believed is the flawed ideology of capitalism and its negative effect on American working class people. In addition, the party's formation was also due to a supposed "coup" in the CPUSA's 32nd National Convention by co-chair Joe Sims[13], from which some of the founding members of the ACP were banned.[14] Members such as Jackson Hinkle and Haz al-Din criticised the CPUSA's favouring of the Democratic Party, with Haz al-Din calling the party's leaders "corrupt sell-outs" that became "entirely subordinated to the Democratic Party".[15][16]. Thus, the American Communist Party's foundation was largely in order to form a political party that was committed to fighting for the rights of the American working class people.
Diplomacy
[edit]On the 24th July, 2024, the American Communist Party officially announced the signing of a bilateral agreement of friendship and co-operation with the Unified Communist Party of Georgia in Gori, Georgia, to commemorate and honour Joseph Stalin.[17] On the 26th July, the ACP International Secretary Christopher Helali met with the Left Front co-ordinator and State Duma deputy Anastasia Udaltsova, where they discussed the "current state of affairs in the international left movement", while also confirming both parties' "solidarity in supporting the Special military operation" as a form of anti-imperialist struggle. Both parties came to the conclusion that the primary opposition to the world liberation movement was "American imperialist globalism", which was agreed as a priority to fight against.[18] The same day, the ACP Secretary of Education Carlos Garrido met with the Venezuelan Deputy of the National Assembly and Vice President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, where they held meetings with the PSVU leadership to strengthen ties and express their support for President of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro in the 2024 Venezuelan presidential election.[19]
Media Coverage
[edit]On the 24th July, 2024, International Secretary Christopher Helali was interviewed live on RT. During the interview, he discussed several topics, including whether a government led by Kamala Harris as President would change its policy and push for a ceasefire in the 2023 Israel-Hamas War (which he strongly rejected), the manner at which Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 US Presidential elections, the deterioration of democracy in the US, the possibility of multipolarity in the future and whether other parties in the USA would have a chance to have proper representation at US elections.[20]
On the 25th July, 2024, Jackson Hinkle was given a 30-minute segment on the The Jimmy Dore Show. In it, he described how the ACP would implement communist policies to the benefit of the entirety of American society, through the nationalisation of key economic and social industries like oil, natural gas, education, healthcare and social media, the rapid industrialisation of the economy and mass land reforms, using the current day examples of Russia and China, as well as the historical example of Stalin's Soviet Union and its rapid conversion from an agrarian-based economy to an industrialised economy. In addition, he quelled any idea of authoritarianism being associated with communism, stating the American Communist Party would fervently support liberties mentioned in the current American Constitution.[21]
Ideology
[edit]The ACP is centred around its core ideology of communism and its strong advocation for the American working-class people. It views the principles of communism as the only viable solution to free the American people from the poverty and class struggle inflicted upon them by the ruling elites[22], describing the economic monopolies by large companies, constant US involvement in foreign wars, capitalism and the liberal agenda of promoting non-traditional, "woke" propaganda as detrimental to the lives of American citizens and US society.[23] [24][25][26]. Hence, the ACP is focused on seizing the means of production and bringing it into the hands of working Americans[27], the subsequent end of the exploitation of the American people through social and racial equality, securing the USA's national borders[28], ending US foreign intervention in wars[29] and global co-operation with countries such as Russia and the China for world prosperity.
Leadership
[edit]The leadership of the ACP is organized through a collective leadership model, with decisions made by the Plenary Committee and the party's announcements by the Executive Board. The current Executive Chairman of the ACP is Haz al-Din, the current International Secretary is Christopher Helali and the current Secretary of Education is Carlos Garrido.
Reactions
[edit]On 23rd July, 2024, the Communist Party USA, from which the American Communist Party officially broke from, addressed the news of the creation of the ACP. The announcement, coming from co-chairs Joe Sims and Rosanna Cambron, described the party as nothing more than an “online movement” formed by “pro-Trump individuals” who were influenced by “Russian National Bolshevism”.[30]The same day, the ACP responded to the CPUSA’s claims, stating that following the 32nd National Convention[12], the “Sims clique unconstitutionally prohibited” a petition on Resolution 5 that seemed to call for resistance against MAGA supporters. Furthermore, they attacked the CPUSA’s supposed hijacking of the social media accounts of “29 Club signatories who appeared on our Declaration”, whereby such social media accounts denied participation or association with the American Communist Party. The ACP published what it called evidence of the CPUSA’s illicit activities while continuing to criticise them for their actions of what they believed was deliberate censorship.[14][18]
