Draft:American Techceptionalism

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

American Techceptionalism is a turn-of-phrase coined by Devon Fitzgerald, in her seminal work, The Silicon Valley Effect. The term is loosely defined as:

"[...]the idea that the United States is inherently a technologically and/or morally superior country, destined for global technological hegemony."

This term is used in reference to the idea that the United States has long enjoyed global dominance with respect to the technological spectrum, based in large part on their creation of the Internet.
