Dr Amin Keshmiri (1992) is an Iranian-British multi-instrumentalist, conductor, composer and researcher. He is the music director of Arezoo Symphony Orchestra (ASO) and a 2015 BAFTA nominee[2][3]. He has worked with some of the greatest Iranian musicians including Shahram Nazeri[4][5] and Darya Dadvar[6]. He is also a recipient of the World Peace Tartan[7].
Biography[edit]
Mohammad Amin Keshmiri was born in Esfahan, Iran (1992/1370), the youngest child of four. At the age of fourteen, he was the youngest member of Esfahan Symphony Orchestra conducted by Majid Entezami. He studied the classical violin with Ebrahim Lotfi, Ali Jafaripouyan and Ali Salehi in Tehran. In 2008, he lost his sister, Arezoo, in a car accident, inspiring him to name his orchestra in her memory[8]. In 2009, Amin moved to the United Kingdom and studied at the Leeds Conservatoire (Leeds College of Music). In 2011, he started his Bachelor's studies as a violinist and conductor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS)[9]. Following the completing of his undergraduate studies, he had already been involved in projects and performances with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (BBCSSO). He further studied a Master's in music at the RCS where he studied by some of the greatest teachers in the world including Professor David Watkin, Professor Andrea Gajic and Dr Mieko Kanno as well as Simon Fischer and Sian Edwards.
In 2022, Keshmiri defended his doctoral studies, a joint doctoral degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and University of St Andrews , making him the first candidate to be awarded a doctorate in music (violin) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
