Amit Jain (born November 12, 1976) is an Indian entrepreneur and the Co-founder & Group CEO of GirnarSoft, an IT externalizing company notable for launching CarDekho in 2008. CarDekho, a web platform and mobile application, facilitates users in making informed decisions when purchasing vehicles by providing comprehensive information, expert reviews, and detailed comparisons of various brands and models available in the Indian market.[1]
Early Life and Education[edit]
Amit Jain was born in Jaipur, India, and completed his schooling at St. Xavier's School, Jaipur. He pursued higher education at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, graduating in 1999.[1][2]
Family[edit]
Amit Jain's family background includes his mother, Nilma Jain, a homemaker, and his late father, Mr. Prashant Jain, who served as an Ex-RBI officer and was involved in the gemstone business. Amit has a younger brother, Anurag Jain, who is the co-founder and COO of CarDekho Group. His wife, Pihu Jain, serves as the Head of Girnar Foundation.[1]
Professional Career[edit]
Amit Jain commenced his professional journey as a Software Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services in 1999-2000. Subsequently, he gained extensive experience working in various roles, including Senior Associate, Delivery Manager, and Product Manager at Trilogy over a period of 6 years and 11 months.[3][4]
In 2007, Amit, along with his brother Anurag Jain, co-founded GirnarSoft, an IT firm with a vision to establish a business in their hometown. The following year, in 2008, the duo launched CarDekho.com, the flagship portal of GirnarSoft, to provide a platform that aids users in making well-informed decisions regarding vehicle purchases.[1]
