Amrita AHEAD is an online educational platform of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, that offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and certification programs.^[1]^[2] The UGC-entitled degree programmes at Amrita AHEAD are provided in association with leaders in the industry and esteemed national and international professors.^[3]^[4] The courses at Amrita AHEAD are designed to offer Amrita's philosophy of 'Education for Life and Education for Living'.^[4]

History[edit]

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was founded in 1994 by Mata Amritanandamayi Devi and is managed by her international humanitarian organisation Mata Amritanandamayi Math. In 2023, the university was awarded an A++ grade by the NAAC.^{[citation needed]} The university is ranked 7th in the NIRF 2022 Rankings. Amrita has 180+ collaborations with top 500 world-ranked universities in a short span of 18 years.^[5] Amrita AHEAD was established in the year 2021 and was planned to align with the New Education Policy (NEP) which aims to improve the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) and offer flexibility to students.^[1]^[6]

Academics[edit]

Amrita AHEAD offers the following academic programs viz. MBA, BCom, BCA, BBA, MCom , and MCA in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity.^[2] Amrita AHEAD online programmes are offered by national and international faculties and course mentors.^[3] Amrita AHEAD promotes industry projects, interactive sessions with industry experts, multiple industry certifications, and the university's career assistance programmes.

These programs were introduced after UGC released the Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020 in September 2020.^[7]

Amrita AHEAD signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, UK) in 2023. The memorandum outlined to include BCom International Finance and MBA International Finance as new integrated streams under the Amrita AHEAD umbrella of programs.^[8]

Scholarships[edit]

Amrita AHEAD offers a variety of scholarships to eligible candidates, to help students overcome financial barriers and pursue their academic goals. Some of the scholarships include Merit scholarship, scholarship for women learners, Defence scholarships etc^[9]
