Amy Xian Zhang, often abbreviated as Amy X. Zhang is an assistant professor at the University of Washington's Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering. Her research focuses on social computing and human-computer interaction, aiming to develop tools to enhance online discourse and combat misinformation[1][2]. Zhang has also been recognized for her work on credibility tools and her research on cyberbullying[3][4].
She is also a founding member of the Credibility Coalition, a group dedicated to research and standards for information credibility online.
Academics
[edit]From 2014 to 2019, Amy X. Zhang was a Doctor of Philosophy candidate at MIT CSAIL, where she was part of the Haystack Group and worked on Mavo with David Karger and Lea Verou[5][6]. She also completed a postdoctoral researcher position at Stanford University's Computer Science Department (2019-2020)[7]. Then, she became an assistant professor and head of the Social Futures Lab at the University of Washington's Allen School of Computer Science and Engineering (2020-present)[8].
