- Comment: Pretty accomplished for a high-level program, although there wasn't as much coverage as I expected. A few stories jointly-focused on him and Vaughn Hebron: [1] [2] [3] - as well as one story about solely Kennedy ([4]), although focusing on him having a game ball. Its of note that he did not appear in any games with the Cowboys (NFL) or Gold Miners (CFL), with what appears to have been only offseason stints. Born March 03,1970 Long Island, New York
Early Life
[edit]Tony attended elementary school in Washington, DC and then moved in 1978 to Bladensburg, Md to attend Bladensburg Elementary. Tony graduated from Bladensburg high school 1988 after being a 2 sport star ( basketball and football.)
Tony received D1 offers in both sports and he committed to Virginia Tech.[1] In January 1988 and signed there for football in early February. While at VT Kennedy majored in History and Sociology. Kennedy helped build the Hokies into a hot program around the nation with his never missing a game after being redshirted in 1988. Kennedy had his best season in 1991 as a Junior leading the team in rushing and scoring and he lead the Big East Conference in scoring that season for positional players. 1992 Kennedy was chosen onto the all century at VT finishing his career number 2 all time Touchdowns with 26 during his 4 years of playing[2]
Kennedy never missed a game at VT where he played in 44 straight games.
Professional
[edit]Kennedy was a UDFA for the Dallas Cowboys in April 1993. Kennedy then played briefly in the CFL with now defunct Sacremento Goldminers in June 1994.
Kennedy later finished his schooling at Towson University where he then became a teacher in 2001 in his home county Prince George’s County until 2005. Kennedy then taught school in Fairfax County until 2008.
Kennedy then became the lead Team liaison for the Military Bowl in 2008.
January 2009 Kennedy Joined the staff of the High School All Star game (Crab Bowl)
In the High School world around the DMV Kennedy has been credited with starting the first Big Classic games I-95 Kickoff Classic, The Patriot Classic.
Current
[edit]Kennedy now runs a CBD company called RX Sports [3] where he is the Co-founder and CEO. Kennedy is also the founder of The Kennedy Sports Group where they are involved with the management and NIL marketing of High School and College players.
