Artе́m Gorislа́vets Vladimirovich (August 5 1979, Kentau, Chimkent Region, Казахская ССР, USSR) - Kazakhstan, well-known artist, sculptor, participant of more than a dozen international symposiums, author of many, well-known in the CIS ceramic works. In 2006 he became a member of the Youth Union of Artists of SKO and in the association of young artists Moscow.
In 2021, a short film was made about Artyom Gorislavets in a series of creative people of Kazakhstan.[1]
Biography[edit]
Artem Gorislavets was born in 1979 in the city of Kentau, Chimkent Region. He started practicing ceramics in 1998. After graduating from university he began to independently engage in his own creativity and the main direction of activity devoted to artistic ceramics.
Artyom has formed three directions in his work with clay over the past period: ceramic sculpture, ceramic panels and small plastics. Artyom has held more than five solo exhibitions. He has participated in 12 international symposiums.
Education[edit]
In 1996 Artyom entered the South Kazakhstan State University in Shymkent, on art and graphic faculty, which he graduated in 2000.
Types of sculptures[edit]
Fire-fired sculptures[edit]
Almost ten years ago, Artem Gorislavets was a participant of a ceramic symposium in Crimea. There he tried for the first time to mold a fire fire sculpture, mastering a new ceramic technique that is now very popular in many countries around the world. It was a completely new experience, involving not just the creation of a composition from clay, but also giving the opportunity to make a full-fledged firing without special equipment, in fact, with bare hands, in an open space. This process turned into a fire show, invariably delighting everyone who was nearby.
There is a combination of art and show - the sculpture is fired and at the same time some kind of performance is offered. Naturally, all this requires compliance with safety rules and even special equipment, but only for the master.[2]
Artem became the progenitor of this art direction in our country, having first publicly shown it to Almaty citizens at the FourE ethno-festival in August 2017.[3]
