Asad Ur Rehman Aasi (Urdu: اسد الرحمٰن آسی; born 23 September 1992) is a Pakistani Trade Unionist, Workers Rights Activist and Philosopher.

[edit]Asad Ur Rehman Aasi is a prominent young trade unionist and worker's activist from Pakistan, known for his extensive work in advocating for Labour rights for both formal and Informal workers. Asad Ur Rehman Aasi joined the trade union movement as an ordinary member of the Pakistan United Irrigation Employees Union-PUIEU. In August 2014, he was elected to the Chaiman Youth Committee for All Pakistan United Irrigation Employees Federation a National centre for irrigation workers in Pakistan. His early involvement laid the foundation for his future endeavours in labour rights advocacy.
With over 13 years of experience, he has played a crucial role in organizing workers, Unions, and labour campaigns, negotiating with management, and fostering strong relationships among union members. His efforts have significantly contributed to improving working conditions and promoting fair labour practices in both the workers of the formal and informal sectors of Pakistan.
Asad Ur Rehman Aasi was born to a Muslim family on September 23, 1992, in Sheikhupura, Pakistan. Later on, Aasi organized workers in the brick kiln industry and formed various unions of brick kiln workers in Sheikhupura to empower them for their basic rights and protection. He established the Bhatta/Brickkiln Workers Federation-BWF, which is an affiliate of the Building and Wood Workers International (BWI), and was elected as Vice President in 2016. He was Organized by Domestic Workers of (District Sheikhupura) in 2015. He helped them to form a union and later on, the Domestic Workers Union expanded its network to the Other Districts of the Punjab and became the first federation of domestic workers on the provincial level.
