Azumi Restaurant Group is a global restaurant enterprise, known for its contemporary dining experiences in prominent cosmopolitan locales.[1][2]
History
[edit]Azumi Restaurant Group was established by co-founders Arjun Waney and Rainer Becker. Sven Koch serves as the chief executive officer of Azumi restaurant group, overseeing its strategic direction and operational management. Azumi began its culinary journey with the inauguration of Zuma London in 2002, swiftly followed by the inception of ROKA in 2004.[3] Azumi expanded by introducing three additional brands: ETARU, Oblix at The Shard, and INKO NITO. Founded by Rainer Becker, in collaboration with Arjun Waney, Azumi commenced with the unveiling of Zuma London in 2002.[4] Presently, the Azumi group has a network of 28 permanent establishments and 11 residencies around the world.
In 2002, Zuma made its debut in London, located near Harrods on a tranquil backstreet off the Brompton Road in Knightsbridge. Zuma has since expanded to have 15 restaurants worldwide, including various residency locations.[5] Subsequently, in 2004, ROKA opened a branch on Charlotte Street, Oxford Street, becoming a favored lunch spot for the tourist in the vicinity.[6][7]
In 2013, Azumi launched Oblix at The Shard, drawing inspiration from London's distinctive skyline and evoking memories of Rainer's tenure as Executive Chef at the Park Hyatt in Tokyo.[8] In 2017, ETARU made its debut in Las Olas, presenting itself as a neighborhood Japanese eatery.[9][10]
