Başar Ünder (born 1984, Istanbul) is a Turkish composer, sound designer, and educator known for his work in experimental electronic music, film scoring, and game audio.

Early Life and Education:

Ünder began his artistic journey in Istanbul, where he completed his undergraduate studies in sociology at Istanbul University. He later pursued advanced studies in music at the ITU-MIAM Center for Advanced Studies in Music.

Career Highlights:

  • In 2006, Ünder served as a guest composer at the Institut International de Musique Electroacoustique de Bourges (IMEB) in France, supported by the UNESCO Aschberg Bursaries for Artists fund.
  • His film score for "Song of My Mother" received the Best Music award at the prestigious 51st International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival in 2014.
  • Ünder's work "Diving" featured on the "Anthology of Turkish Experimental Music 1961-2014," released by the renowned record label Sub Rosa.
  • In 2014, he became the first Turkish composer selected for the Berlinale Talents Sound Studio program of the Berlin Film Festival.
