"Bagyo" or "Storm" in English, is a Demo song written and recorded by Filipino self-singer-songwriter Mishael Baguna. She uploaded her demo on social-media platform Facebook and gain attention to internet friends and people from some parts of the Philippines. She used Ukulele that serves as the single instrument accompanied with the song. It gained approximately 762 views and 20 shares on December 23, 2022.[1]
Background[edit]
According to Baguna on her post, she wrote the song for "the man who stole her heart away and ran away with it," while also stating "I know he will hear this music."[2] She wrote the song between December 15-18, 2023 and recorded it on the night after she finished writing the song. "I only recorded this at grandma's comfort room so bare with the background noises and the quality of the voice."[3]
Composition and lyrics[edit]
"Bagyo" was based on Baguna's unforgettable romantic experiences with his boyfriend, and was hoping to find healing by making the song.[4] On the last part of the lyrics of her song, she wrote there that his love for her is the reason why she wrote the song, and that it hurts her knowing that it's not possible to bring it back anymore.[5]
Before she wrote the song, she started playing different chords of Ukelele. Days after experimenting the chords, she started composing a song and titled it "Bagyo."
