"Baramant" is an Iranian Metal band formed by Hamed Babaei and Amir Khoshharf in 2007[1]. "Baramant" is a misreading of two Persian words "بارامانت" (baar-e-amaanat) which translates to "the load of owing" in English[2].

Originally named "Slogan," the band changed their name to "Baramant" in 2015[3]. Since their formation, Baramant has released one studio album, Homarg[4], in 2019. They have also produced three music videos: "Slogan[5]," "Fearlessness[6]," and "Gantlope."[7] In Farsi, Homarg means of a Euthanasia device.[8]

Baramant is known for their multi-media art approach, often integrating visual and experiential elements into their performances to challenge their audience.[9] [10]For instance, during a performance titled "Dead Room[11]" at Darbast Platform[12], the audience listened to the band exclusively through headphones provided at the venue[13]. In another performance called "Inversion" at RoobeRoo Mansion[14], they utilized lighting techniques that made it difficult for the audience to see them clearly.[15]

Baramant was also invited to a meeting held at Hanooz Publication to discuss rock music and the challenges and issues facing the genre in Iran[16].

Studio Kargah was the designer of Baramant's first album, which was so successful that its cover art is now stored in the Museum of Design in Zurich.[18]. In 2017, Baramant released their first track, "Stillness," featuring cover art inspired by the artist Siah Qalam the cover art.[19]
