Ben Vorspan is the author of The Nonprofit Imagineers and founder of Inspired Multimedia, Inc.[1].
After graduating from UC Santa Barbara in 2002, Vorspan began working in marketing, communications, and creative roles with an assortment of businesses and organizations, including the Hebrew Union College, The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, schools, religious organizations and a variety of mission-driven nonprofits around the world.
In 2007, Vorspan founded Inspired Multimedia, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in working with nonprofit organizations around the world to build websites, improve marketing efforts and provide tools and resources customized to fit this niche. During that time, he also co-founded and ran a thriving nonprofit group for young professionals in the Los Angeles area, receiving national recognition and grants.
Publications[edit]
In 2023, Vorspan's debut book, The Nonprofit Imagineers was published by Business Expert Press[2]. The book explores Disney Imagineering principles, and the nature of creativity and innovation, and discusses how the concepts might be used by nonprofit organizations[3]
Vorspan has also authored and/or been featured in several articles published by national online magazines, including The Human Touch in Nonprofit Relationships[4], Which communications metrics do you find especially useful and why?[5], No! Family[edit]
Several of Vorspan's family members are noteworthy leaders. Max Vorspan, his grandfather, was influential in the Los Angeles Jewish community, and co-authored The History of the Jews of Los Angeles in 1970. Albert Vorspan, his great-uncle, was an author and Director Emeritus of the Commission on Social Action of Reform Judaism until his death in February 2019.[9] His father, David Vorspan, is founding rabbi of Congregation Shir Ami, and was Rabbi-in-Residence of de Toledo High School (formerly New Community Jewish High School.) until he retired in 2021.[10]
