Benedetta is a horse which is trained by Mornington based trainer Jason Warren.

Racing Career[edit]

2023 Campaign #1: Maiden and the Inglis Sprint win[edit]

[3]After having 5 Jumpouts in the Mornington area, Benedetta debuted as an early 3 year old in a 3yo Maiden Plate over 1100m at Moe ridden by Jason Maskiell. Benedetta came 3rd in the race. She then had a Freshen up before racing in a 3yo Filly Maiden Plate at Cranbourne over 1200m which Benedetta won ridden by Daniel Stackhouse.

Benedetta had a freshen up before she won back to back in races at Sandown both ridden by Daniel Stackhouse and both over 1300m. She then had a jumpout at Balnarring before winning at Flemington in the massive $750k Inglis Sprint on the 4th of March once again ridden by Stackhouse after being favourite for the race. She had one more race in her campaign which was the Listed Sunlight Classic coming 3rd behind the favourite What you need and Godolphin horse Renosu.

2023 Campaign #2: Black type win and the Silver Eagle[edit]

She then had a spell and after a jumpout at Mornington, she went back to the racetrack winning in a BM84 at Flemington ridden by apprentice jockey Tatum Bull. She then went to a jumpout at Mornington winning it before winning in the G3 Cockram Stakes over 1200m At Caulfield ridden by Daniel Stackhouse. Her final race in Victoria for 2023 was the G2 Bobbie Lewis Quality coming 3rd ridden by Daniel Stackhouse over 1200m being the favourite however placing behind Star Patrol and 3 time Magic Millions Series winner King of Sparta.

She then went up to Sydney to race in the Silver Eagle with a potential few other races on the card a possibility however that didn’t turn out in the owners’ favour and solely went up to race in the Siver Eagle.[4] After a trial on the Kensington track at Randwick, Benedetta raced in the Million dollar Silver Eagle at Randwick coming 4th behind Vienna Princess, Strait Acer and Godolphin horse Pericles. As per usual, Benedetta was ridden by Stackhouse being 2nd favourite for the race.

[5]Just after it arrived back in Victoria after the Silver Eagle, it was on the path for the Furphy Sprint on Derby Day before an accident involving one of Benedetta’s shoes coming off which she then trot on a nail causing a bit of the hoof to break needing to have time for it to grow back and spelled until Autumn because of it.

2024 Campaign #1: Maiden G1 Win in SA[edit]

After having 2 Jumpouts in Balnarring, she was back on the racetrack for her first Group 1 race being the Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield ridden by Stackhouse. After being equal 2nd favourite, she ended up coming 4th coming behind Queman, Hypothetical and Mornington Glory. Other well known horses in the race include: Henry Dwyer horse Asfoora, and 2 group 1 winners: Chain of Lightning and Skew Wiff. 2 weeks later, Benedetta was back to contest in the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap at Flemington. However, for the first time since Tatum Bull’s ride at the start of her 2nd campaign, Harry Coffey rid the 4 year old mare as Daniel Stackhouse was out suspended.[6] Benedetta ended up coming 4th behind Godolphin horse Cylinder, Imperatriz and the Astrologist.
