Samiev Bobo Djuraevich is a scholar, a candidate of philosophical sciences (1999), a doctor of philosophical sciences (2009), and a professor (2011). He became a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RAEN) in 2015 and an academician of RAEN in 2019. He served as the head of the Department of Philosophy at Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Sadriddin Ayni (2008-2010), the deputy rector for scientific work (2011-2014), the head of the educational department of the university (2015-2018), and the advisor to the rector (2019-2022). Currently, he is a professor at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies at the university (from 2023 to the present).

Biography

Samiev Bobo Djuraevich was born on January 1, 1970, in the village of Veshab, Ayni district, former Leninabad region (now Sogdian region), into a farmer's family. In 1993, he graduated from the Faculty of Tajik Philology at Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Kandil Djuraev, now Sadriddin Ayni, specializing in teaching Tajik language and literature, as well as classical texts.

From 1993 to 2008, he worked in various positions at the Department of Philosophy and Political Science at Tajik Agrarian University (from September 1, 1993, to September 1, 1994, as head of the office; from December 22, 1995, to January 22, 1999, as an assistant; from April 1, 2000, to January 14, 2003, as a senior lecturer, and from January 14, 2003, to November 16, 2005, as an associate professor).

From September 2009 to June 2011, he served as the head of the Department of Philosophy and Culture at Sadriddin Ayni Tajik State Pedagogical University, and from 2011 to 2014, he held the position of deputy rector for scientific work at the university.

From 2015 to 2018, he worked as the head of the educational department at Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Sadriddin Ayni, and from 2019 to 2022, he served as an advisor to the university's rector. Since January 2023, he has been working as a professor at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies at the mentioned university.

Research Activities

Samiev Bobo Djuraevich's research activities began in 1993. Since then, he has been involved in the exploration of issues related to the Enlightenment school, the reformist teachings of Tajik thinkers from the 19th to the early 20th centuries, and problems related to educational processes, and so on.

In 1999, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic of "Social and Political Ideas of Ahmad Donish" at the Dissertation Council of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science, and Law named after A. Bakhadddinov of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan. In March 2006, he was awarded the title of associate professor by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation. On June 23, 2009, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic of "Analysis of Philosophical and Social Views of Tajik Enlighteners on the Structure and Social Relations of the Late 19th to Early 20th Centuries." In 2012, he was awarded the title of professor by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation.

From September 2011 to September 20, 2014, he served as the deputy editor-in-chief of the scientific journal "Bulletin of the Pedagogical University," and from 2011 to 2014, he held the position of vice-rector for scientific work at the university. In 2015, he was awarded the title of corresponding member of the Academy of Natural Sciences of the Russian Federation, and in 2019, he became an academician of this scientific institution.

In 2022, through his efforts and direct involvement in the university's research department, a scientific journal titled "Bulletin of the Pedagogical University: Series on Philosophical and Political Sciences" was organized.

In addition to fulfilling his responsibilities, he actively participates in and presents at international conferences and meetings held abroad (including in the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, China, Iran, Afghanistan) and within the country on everyday societal issues. He also actively participates in republican and intra-university conferences on important issues in philosophical sciences.

Under his direct supervision, 12 postgraduates, doctoral students, and applicants from the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies at Sadriddin Ayni Tajik State Pedagogical University have completed their candidate dissertations and successfully defended them at the Dissertation Councils of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science, and Law named after A. Bakhadddinov of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan and the National University of Tajikistan. Serving as a member of the Dissertation Council of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science, and Law named after A. Bakhadddinov (2016-2019) and the Dissertation Council at the Faculty of Philosophy of the National University of Tajikistan (from 2020 to the present).

During his research career, Samiev Bobo Djuraevich has published more than 90 scientific and public articles in peer-reviewed journals accredited by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation and the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
