BRADLEY McCAW is an Australian singer, actor, comedian, songwriter, and producer.[1]
Early Career
[edit]In 2004 Bradley toured the world as a member of pop-opera singing group 'The Ten Tenors,' including a performance at the historic AFL Grand Final.[2][3][4]
Between 2004-2015 Bradley performed lead roles in various regional, semi professional & amateur productions of musicals such as RENT, Tick Tick Boom, Les Miserables, Company, Into The Woods, Spamalot, among others.[5][6][7] He has referred to this as his training ground as an actor, being offered at place at NIDA Acting school but was unable to attend due to financial limitations.
In 2010 Bradley was commissioned by Independent theatre company 'Joymas Creative' to present a concert version of a new musical. This resulted in the creation of a one act performance featuring Bradley singing and piano, accompanied by three other actors. This was the first draft and concert performance of his semi-autographical musical 'Becoming Bill.'[8]
In 2011 he was awarded the Young Emerging Playwright Award from Queensland Theatre Company where he developed a later abandoned musical work 'In Good Company.'[9]
In 2012 he won the International Cabaret Showcase with his original show 'Cabaret: The Complete Unauthorised Biography.' Featuring all original music the show was performed at festivals around Australia and at New York's Signature Centre on 42nd Street.[10][11]
In 2013 he begun work on what would later become his debut album Worried Minds.[12]
From 2013-2019 Bradley developed his craft as a writer, developing various original musical theatre productions and full length plays. Australian Plays Transform published two of his work 'The Game' and 'Everybody's Doin' It.'[13]
Musicals
[edit]His musical 'Becoming Bill' had its Australian premiere at the Brisbane Powerhouse in 2019. Directed by Neil Gooding, featuring actress Rachael Beck and Bradley as Bill.[14]
His musical 'Any Moment' was performed at the Melbourne Cabaret Festival in 2019.[15]
2020 - present
[edit]In 2021 he released his first single 'So Glad' alongside a music video filmed during covid. The clip included fans from all over the world recording themselves dancing in their kitchens .[16]
In 2022 he released several singles including the country-rock inspired duet Someone Like You with Paulini.
In 2023, after ten years in production Bradley released his debut album 'Worried Minds' on Old Fashioned Records.[17] The album featured Nathan East on bass, Steve Francis on drums, Jose McLaughlin on Rhodes & organs, James Morrison on trumpet and Louie Shelton on guitars.
