Brasimone Research Center is an Italian research center dedicated to studying and developing technologies in the areas of Generation IV fission reactors and magnetic confinement nuclear fusion. Located in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines (Italy), it is one of the 11 research centers operating under the auspices of the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA).
Some of the main fields of research and development in the Brasimone research center include:[1]

- Green technologies and environmental monitoring
- Study and development of magnetic confinement nuclear safety technologies
- Materials and ionizing radiation technologies and physical radiation protection
- Prototyping of systems and components for energy applications
- Liquid metals technologies and Innovative materials
- Training and logistical support for the Italian National Antarctic Research Program
- Food and environmental safety
Since 2022, the nuclear startup Newcleo (funded by the Italian physicist Stefano Buono) has invested in new infrastructures and laboratories in Brasimone as part of their roadmap to the development and construction of an electrical prototype of the Lead-cooled Fast Reactor (LFR) system.[2]
