Cambridge Maths School, also known as CMS, is a maths school located in Cambridge, England.[1] It is run in partnership by the Eastern Learning Alliance and the University of Cambridge[2].
The school opened in September 2023 at a temporary site on Mill Road, Cambridge, however it plans to move to a larger site on Hills Road in 2025.[3]
It is highly selective, admitting up to 40 students each year. All prospective students are invited to take a written mathematics aptitude test, and those with a high score on the test are invited to an interview that consists of a seperate personal interview and a mathematics interview. They are expected to achieve GCSE qualifications at grade 8-9 in mathematics and in the science they intend to study.[4]
All students are required to study A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics, with students given the choice of studying either one or two of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Computer Science.[5]
