Carl Viktor Abrahamsson, born January 18, 1966[1] Stockholm, is a Swedish author, publisher, musician and filmmaker.
Since the mid-80s, Carl Abrahamsson has run publishing businesses that focus on increasing human potential and individualism[2]. He has worked in journalism since the mid-1990s[3].
A book of photographs from Abrahamsson's fanzine period of 1985–88, "Fanzinera", was published in 2012. The book includes portraits of Iggy Pop, Sonic Youth, Lydia Lunch, The Leather Nun, Union Carbide Productions, Gun Club and more[4].
Abrahamsson's first novel, "Mother, Have A Safe Trip", was published in 2013[5].
Carl Abrahamsson's photo book "California Infernal: Anton LaVey & Jayne Mansfield, as portrayed by Walter Fischer" was released in 2016 through Trapart[6].
Abrahamsson has been a member of the bands White Stains (1987–94) and Cotton Ferox (since 2000). Since 2013, Abrahamsson has run the record company Highbrow Lowlife together with Thomas Tibert[7].
In 2013, Abrahamsson began the documentary film series "An Art Apart" with portraits of artists such as Carl Michael von Hausswolff, Genesis P-Orridge, Kenneth Anger and Michael Gira[8]. In 2015 Abrahamsson released the film "Nothing is true, everything is possible", a portrait of the Swedish singer and artist Freddie Wadling.
During the 1980s Abrahamsson was the leader of the Scandinavian branch of the Temple ov Psychick Youth network, TOPYSCAN, and for a time in the early 1990s, was also associated with Anton LaVey.
