Draft:Carlton Heard

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  • Comment: Biography of a living person that does not cite significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject (per WP:GNG). Recent edits have not addressed previous reviewers' feedback. The final section - about the film - is written in a promotional, discursive style, not a neutral encylopedic style, and its references are mainly listings, not significant coverage about the film; it fails WP:CREATIVE. • Comment: Fails WP:NBASIC. Sorry, but I'll need more than passing mentions and non in-depth coverage. For example, the first three references are only discussing about the trial for the subject mother's death, and does not cover the subject significantly and in-depth. The rest of the references in the draft are sports stats and information about a film, not covering the subject in-depth and significantly either. Tails Wx 02:39, 7 November 2023 (UTC)
    • @Tails Wx: Note that there is some significant coverage from his football career, e.g. The State and Greenville News. Not sure if its enough. BeanieFan11 (talk) 16:42, 8 November 2023 (UTC)
      • @BeanieFan11: thanks for the ping! I think his football career is likely notable, though the draft as a whole cannot be accepted in its current state per the points stated above. If the draft is improved and addresses the concerns above (and the COI tag also resolved below,) then this draft may be accepted. Tails Wx 17:27, 8 November 2023 (UTC)
  • Comment: Declining for the time being. You can resubmit after the improvements have been made, as discussed on my talk page. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 07:02, 1 November 2023 (UTC).

Carlton Rodriguez Heard (born August 21, 1993, Athens, Georgia) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is also a former American football player.

Football career[edit]

(2007 – 2011): Heard attended Clarke Central High School, caught 25 passes for 520 yards and made seven touchdowns. The team's record was 11-1, and they won the Georgia Region 8-AAAA title in 2010.[2][3]

(2011 – 2013): Heard played college football for the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs, where he appeared in eight games. During his time with Gardner-Webb, he caught 31 passes for 422 yards, averaging 13.6 yards per catch, and scored one touchdown. He transferred to play for the South Carolina Gamecocks from 2013 to 2015.[4][5]

Film career[edit]

In 2020, Heard unveiled The Black Hole, a thought-provoking short film that transcended the ordinary with its compelling exploration of social and existential issues. The narrative follows James, who finds himself trapped in a surreal cycle of repeating the same day, a day marred by the disturbing news of racist police brutality. With each recurrence, the gravity of the events sinks deeper, and James is compelled to delve into history for answers. This riveting cinematic piece not only entertains but also invites its audience into a profound reflection on the cyclical nature of social injustices, prompting a necessary dialogue about our collective history and its lingering impact on the present.[6][7][8][9][10]
