- Comment: coverage in book as written by BeanieFan11, plus an obituary, plus a stats page do not add up to significant coverage to demonstrate notability. microbiologyMarcus (petri dish·growths) 17:25, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: NoreLord sent me some of the biographical information about Jonasen included in the book source:
Charles Jonasen played first base and right field for the Minneapolis Marines amateur baseball team. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War I. He first worked as a shipping clerk for a flour mill, then as a deputy sheriff for the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department, and later for the Minneapolis Fire Department (1928-1957)
plus some other mentions about individual game performances and mentions on yearly rosters. I will leave it to someone else on whether Jonasen's draft should be accepted or not. BeanieFan11 (talk) 17:37, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: @NorseLord: Could you show me (either through email or listing it on the talk page) what the Mill City Scrum book has to say about Jonasen? BeanieFan11 (talk) 18:39, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: Based on the title of the only source, it does not seem like it provides in-depth coverage to me. Please try to look for more sources. 94rain Talk 01:24, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
Charles Jonasen (December 20, 1889 – March 9, 1989) was an American football player for the Minneapolis Marines, a sandlot, then semi-professional, independent professional, and National Football League (NFL) team in 1908, from 1910 to 1917, and from 1919 to 1921.[1]
Jonasen played with his twin brother, Henry Jonasen, with the Marines. He also played for the Minneapolis Marines amateur baseball team.[1] Jonasen appeared in one National Football League game with the Marines in 1921.[2] He served in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War I and later worked as a shipping clerk for a flour mill, as the deputy sheriff in the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department, and in the Minneapolis Fire Department from 1928 to 1957.[1]
Jonasen was a member of the American Legion.[3] He was married and had two children.[3] He died at the age of 99 in 1989, and was the last surviving Minneapolis Marine.[2][3]
