Broadcasting History

[edit]

On the 1st Oct 2020, Christmas Radio began broadcasting on the Portsmouth trial DAB multiplex[1] run by Solent Wireless[2]. A test transmission of Christmas Radio on DAB prior to its launch on 1st of October 2020 was recorded by a radio DXer as far away as Southampton and uploaded to YouTube.[3]

In 2022, Christmas Radio joined the then new DAB+ mux, along with 17 other stations, in Winchester[4][5].

In addition to DAB the station is also available online via TuneIn. Broadcasting from 1st October through to New Years eve, the station plays the most popular Christmas songs and features Santa Claus as one of the regular presenters.
