Claroty is a cybersecurity company that provides software services designed for the protection of OT and IT infrastructure, healthcare data, and IoT devices from cyber-physical threats.[2] It is headquartered in New York with an office in Tel Aviv.[3]

History[edit]

Claroty was founded in 2014 by Galina Antova, Amir Zilberstein and Benny Porat, to protect the cyber infrastructure of industrial control systems in companies managing oil and gas supplies. It later expanded to provide threat detection services in industrial Operational Technology (OT), healthcare, and enterprise Internet of Things (IoT) networks, along with risk and vulnerability management to car manufacturers, life sciences and F&B companies. Notable clients of the company include Coca-Cola, General Motors and Pfizer.[4][5]

The company raised $60 million in series B funding round led by Temasek Holdings with participation from Aster Capital, Envision Ventures, and Tekfen Ventures among others, in 2018.[6] In 2021, the company raised another $400 million in funding co-led by Softbank, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Schneider Electric[7] followed by a $140M round co-led by Bessemer Venture Partners and 40 North.[8]

In August 2022, Claroty launched xDome, a cloud-based service to increase cybersecurity and operational resilience for industrial, manufacturing, healthcare and commercial businesses.[9][failed verification]

In December 2022, Claroty's R&D team, Team82, developed a generic attack technique that can bypass the web application firewalls (WAFs) of several vendors. The technique was tested against Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare, F5, Imperva, and Palo Alto Networks to understand its potential impact on multiple WAF systems.[10]

In May 2023, Claroty expanded its FOCUS Partner Program to include more managed security service providers (MSSPs) such as IBM Corp., NTT Data Corp., and eSentire Inc for enhanced cybersecurity contributions.[11][12]

Acquisition[edit]

The company acquired healthcare IoT security startup, Medigate, in December 2021, to provide cybersecurity services to protect Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) devices and applications through its platform.[13][14]

Partnerships[edit]

In June 2022, Claroty partnered with Schneider Electric to provide threat detection and security to building management systems.[15] In February 2023, Claroty, expanded their collaboration with CrowdStrike to increase visibility and mitigate cyber and operational risk in industrial environments.[16]
