Claudia Lynx (Persian: کلودیا لینکس; born June 8, 1982) is an Iranian actress, model and singer. She became famous by playing the role of an Egyptian queen in the movie Legion of the Dead. In 2003, she released her first music album titled "Shaghayegh" to the Iranian market, the song "Chareh Chieh"[1] which was released in 2004 was well received among Iranians and led to her recognition among Iranians. [2]
Early life[edit]
Claudia's birth name is Shaghyegh Samen,[3] she and her family left Iran for Oslo, Norway where her career kick started with TV advertisements for baby products. [4] she got her first break while she and babysitter were waiting for her mother, a dentist. One patient who was waiting for an appointment coincidentally turned out to be Katrina Karingeborg, the casting director of a range of baby’s products, who was in search of a fresh new baby face. [5] The director was mesmerized by Claudia Lynx’s persona and appearance. She approached her mother to seek permission for casting her daughter in a forthcoming advertisement for baby diapers. [6] Her mother approved, and Claudia became popular in Europe as “the most adorable diapers baby”. [7]
At age five, Claudia, her parents, and older brother (Shervin) moved to Toronto, Canada where she continued her career as a child actress.[8] At fifteen, she was discovered by a modeling agent and began modeling for clients such as Levi's and was also seen on countless magazine covers.[9][10] Also, in 1995, she started her activity as a host of the children's program on the Persian-language Tamasha channel, which broadcasts programs for Iranians living in America and Canada. [11] Besides her acting career, teenaged Claudia Lynx took a keen interest in singing. [12] When she was eighteen years of age, Claudia's first singing album called "Shaghayegh" was released which did reasonably well. [13][14][15]

Claudia has appeared in several projects in Hollywood cinema, in 2004 she appeared as Queen Nefertiti in the Discovery Channel's documentary "Rameses: Wrath of God or Man?" alongside Morgan Freeman.[16] [17] In 2005, she managed to play the main role in the movie Legion of the Dead which she plays the role of an Egyptian queen who suddenly comes back to life after many years and forms a legion of the dead to destroy humanity. [18] Other movies include the sixth short movie in 2011,[19][20] Lady Magdalene's, released in 2008, where she played Scheherazade, [21] and Succubus: Hell Bent released in 2007. She also played Miss World in the popular American television series The West Wing in 2005.[22]
