Damon Dominque is an American YouTuber, author and language teacher known for his travel-related and philosophical content.

In 2023, Damon released his debut travel book You Are a Global Citizen.

YouTube Career

Damon launched his career with his former best friend, Jo Franco, with a community, blog and YouTube Channel named Shut Up and Go, which grew to 1.1 million subscribers on YouTube ^[1] which predominately featured travel and language content.

After several years, the pair began doing separate blogs, which later prompted both to create their own respective channels ^[2]. On Dominque's own channel he clarified the pair fell out over projects and directions ^[3].

Book

In 2023, Damon released his first book You Are A Global Citizen: A Guided Journal For The Culturally Curious an interactive book on travel that features pages that act as a cultural workbook.

Dominque creates French and Spanish courses that teach people the practical language he wishes he had learned; he also has a course on travelling inspired by his book.

Personal Life

Dominque is from Fort Wayne, Indiana and grew up in a trailer park; in a YouTube video, he discussed how he was proud of his upbringing and had a great childhood ^[4].

Dominique was studying languages at Pace University in New York City, where he met his former colleague, Jo Franco. After the success of their YouTube channel, Dominique dropped out to pursue it full-time.

His family reside in Indiana, while Damon continues to live in Paris, France, although he spends time overseas travels ^[5]. Damon previously dated a French man for multiple years, who played a significant role in his French language skills and remained a close friend to him. Recently, Domonique opened up about love and his relationship with his ex-boyfriend ^[6].

Damon speaks English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish and is conversational in Italian, German and Arabic.
