Daniel A. Guy Jr. (born 1950s) is a Special Trial Judge of the United States Tax Court, beginning in 2012.

Born in St. Mary's County, Maryland, Guy graduated from St. Mary's Ryken High School in 1979, and received a B.A. from Western Maryland College in 1983, followed by a J.D. (cum laude) from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1987, where he was an associate editor of the University of Baltimore Law Review from 1986 to 1987. Guy was a law clerk to Judge Harry A. Cole of the Maryland Court of Appeals from 1987 to 1988, and a trial attorney with the Internal Revenue Service Office of Chief Counsel from 1988 to 1990. He then served as a law clerk to Judge Arthur Nims of the United States Tax Court from 1990 to 1992. Guy received an LL.M. in Taxation (with distinction) from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1993.[1] He remained at the Tax Court as a staff attorney from 1993 to 2006, then as Deputy General Counsel from 2007 to 2009, and then as General Counsel from 2009 to 2012. He was appointed as a Special Trial Judge of the United States Tax Court, on May 31, 2012.[1]

On November 21, 2021, Guy was awarded the J. Edgar Murdock Award, the court's highest honor, for his distinguished service to the Tax Court.[2]
