Daniel Bird is a British journalist, commentator and Assistant Showbiz Editor for Mirror Online..[1]
He has previously worked for the Daily Star[2] and Express.co.uk,[3] as well as the ITV Tonight programme. Daniel has spoken openly about his health struggles, including dealing with anorexia[4][5]
Before Sarah Harding’s death, Bird often gave media commentary on the Girls Aloud singer’s condition.[6] He has also been a frequent guest on GB News, Ireland AM and BBC Radio Ulster.
Early life
[edit]Daniel was born in Chester on 27 July 1995 and grew up in the surrounding areas. He attended Woodchurch High School between 2007 and 2011. He later studied at Liverpool Hope University, before gaining an MA in International Journalism at Sheffield Hallam University[7]
Career
[edit]Bird's career started on the ITV Tonight programme in 2017, where he interned on the show for one month. Shortly after completing his MA in 2018, he joined Caters News Agency and their sister company, Mercury Press and Media for eight months in their Birmingham and Liverpool offices.
He joined the Daily Star on August 26, 2019, with an announcement stating that he had been appointed as a showbiz reporter [8]. In 2021, he left his role at the Star and joined the Daily Express as a Celebrity News Reporter [9]. Bird later returned to the Daily Star as Senior Showbiz Reporter.
In October 2022, he joined the Daily Mirror (Online) as Assistant Showbiz Editor [10]. Daniel has been known to contribute on Ireland AM, GB News[11] and BBC Radio Ulster.
