David Michael Shea (July 1, 1922 – July 22, 2003) was a justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court from 1981 to 1992.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Shea was the second child of Michael and Margaret O'Leary Shea.[1]
He was educated at Our Lady of Sorrows School and then at Hartford High School, from which he graduated in 1940. After military service in the United States Army during World War II, he returned to Connecticut to complete his education at Wesleyan University and Yale Law School.[1]
Shea practiced law for eighteen years with the law firm of Bailey, Wechsler and Shea.[1]
On January 1, 1966, Justice Shea was sworn in and became a member of the Superior Court. For fifteen years he served, with distinction, to adjudicate the variety of civil and criminal cases on that court's regular docket and for several years he served as well on its sentence review division and on its appellate session.
