From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

David Sánchez Pérez-Castejón, also known by the stage name David Azagra, is a Spanish conductor, brother of the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón.

David Sánchez studied Economics and Business Administration at ICADE, and Music at the St. Petersburg Conservatory..[1]

David Sánchez works as coordinator of the Conservatories of Music of Badajoz and advisor to the Teatro Real in Madrid and lives in Elvas (Portugal).[2]

In June 2024, David Sánchez was in the news because the investigating court no. 3 of Badajoz admitted a complaint filed against him by the Manos Limpias trade union for the alleged commission of five crimes: embezzlement, prevarication, influence peddling, against the public administration and against the public treasury[3][4]. The complaint was also filed against the president of the Badajoz provincial council, Miguel Ángel Gallardo, and a person in charge of human resources of the same. [5]

In a report by the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard, dated July 8, 2024, multiple "preparatory acts" are indicated by the Badajoz Provincial Deputation to create and directly award David Sánchez his job in the aforementioned Provincial Council.[6]

On July 10, the Civil Guard intercepted the emails of David Sánchez and the president of the Provincial Council, and the investigated person was not at his workstation [7]. The judge sees indications of falsehood when she finds that David Sánchez did not have a work office [8]. She has also requested the Revenue service to file David Sánchez's income tax returns for the last five years to find out if there are indications of a crime in his increase in assets [9] [10]
